Model actress Mila Hossain has been residing in New York, USA for many years. She is staying there with her husband Zakaria Masud Zico. Sometimes Mila comes to Dhaka and takes part in shooting of TV plays and telefilms.
Mila is not only a popular model but also a good actress. She wants to remain in hearts of viewers so she returns to Bangladesh to work in the small screen. But she never saw to perform on the stage (theatre play).
In 2002/2003, she was supposed to work in theatre play titled Roktokorobi but later she went to USA so couldn’t act in that play. At last, she was seen to perform in a theatre play.
On November 11, expatriate Bangladeshi doctors’ organization, Shilpangan staged a Liberation War based play at Nobanno Utsab at Levittown Community Hall, Long Island, New York, USA. Mila acted in the play titled Ei Khaney Dorja Chhilo scripted by Dr Aamar Ashraf and directed by Dr Nazrul Islam. Mila played the central role in this play. Among many viewers, Subir Nandi, Priya Dayes, Tonima Hadi, among others, were also present in that festival.
While sharing her feelings to perform in theatre play Mila told this correspondent over phone from New York, “At last, my many days’ dream came into true. I acted in a theatre play. I could not believe to get such response from the audience. In fact, I really became excited after acting in that play.”
Mila also informed that she has performed as a model in a music video after long time which shooting was held in different places in New York. She became model of Elita Karim’s a song titled Ei shohor-er bukey tumi ar ami, ei shohor-e tomar amar ghor bari. New York expatriate Sarwar Habib wrote lyrics of the song and he also made its video. Another expatriate Nasim Durjoy has composed its music. This song will be released in different channels and Youtube soon, Mila added.
