A construction worker of the Dhaka Metro Rail project died after an iron frame fell on him while he was working near the High Court in the city’s Matsya Bhaban area on Friday afternoon.
The victim was identified as Sabuz Mia, 24, hailed from Nilphamari district.
Victim’s brother Emdadul Islam said that the iron frame, erected near column 579, fell on him when Sabuz was working there around 11:45am,
leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he died around 2:00pm.
Sabuz had been working in the project for more than two years.
The body was sent to DMCH morgue for autopsy, said AKM Niaz Uddin, Sub-Inspector of Shahbagh Police Station.
