Bangladeshi athlete Mesbah Ahmed finished 14th among 21 competitors to eliminate from the preliminary round of his lone event of the men’s 100-metre sprint of the 31st Olympics Games in Rio on Saturday.
Bangladesh’s fastest man Mesbah Ahmed took part in heat number 2 and was placed 4th with a timing of 11.34 seconds among the seven athletes.
In the overall three heats of the preliminary round, Mesbah Ahmed finished 14th among the 21 participants. Top eight athletes of the preliminary round qualified for the next round.
Hassan Saaid of the Maldives clinched the top slot in the overall preliminary round and also in the heat number 2, with a timing of 10.43 second to qualify for the next rounds.
