Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon was elected unofficially by a huge margin from Dhaka-8 constituency in the 11th general election held on Sunday.
Returning Officer and Dhaka Divisional Commissioner KM Ali Azam announced the unofficial results of 110 polling stations of the constituency on Sunday night.
Menon bagged 1,39, 538 votes with “Boat” symbol while his nearest rival BNP candidate Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed got 38,717 votes with “Sheaf of Paddy” symbol.
