After whitewashing the UAE T20 Cricket team by 2-0 in the two-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series, winners Bangladesh T20 Cricket team return home on Wednesday.
Bangladesh beat the UAE by seven runs in the first T20I match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium in the UAE on September 25.
Bangladesh defeated the UAE by 32 runs in the second T20I match at the same venue on Tuesday night.
Sent into bat first, Bangladesh piled up a satisfactory 169 for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20 overs and then restricted the UAE to 137 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs.
Bangladesh had a modest start as opener Sabbir Rahman (12) was trapped leg before wicket by Aryan Lakra when Bangladesh’s score was 27.
After Sabbir’s dismissal, Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Litton Das built a worthy partnership. They put on together 41 runs for the second wicket partnership before Litton Das was caught by Karthik Meiyappan off Aayan Afzal Khan when the tourists’ total was 68 for the loss of two wickets.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mosaddek Hossain contributed together 32 runs in the four-wicket stand before Miraz was trapped leg before wicket by Sabir Ali when Bangladesh’s total was 122 for the loss of four wickets.
Miraz notched up a polished 46. His 37-ball innings was laced with five fours. He was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Mosaddek Hossain made 27 from 22 balls including two fours and a sixer.
Afzal Khan of the UAE was his team’s most successful bowler with two wickets in the space of 33 runs.
Later, the UAE lost their early four wickets for 29 runs.
Third-down Chundangapoyil Rizwan and fourth-down Basil Hameed repaired the damage adding together 90 runs for the fifth wicket partnership before Hameed was dismissed by Ebadot Hossain when the UAE’s total was 119 for the loss of five wickets.
Rizwan remained unbeaten with 51 runs. His 36-ball innings saw two fours and two sixes.
Hameed scored 42 from 40 deliveries with four fours.
Mosaddek Hossain bagged two wickets in the space of eight runs, while Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain and Nasum Ahmed took one wicket each for 22, 24 and 36 runs respectively.
