A view sharing meeting with District Police, Kurigram was arranged at Conference Room of Superintendent of Police with aim to strengthen the GO-NGO partnership to eradicate social evils from Kurigram recently.
Superintendent of Police, Kurigram Md. Mohibul Islam Khan (BMP), Md Menhajul Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kurigram was present as Chief Guest and special guest respectively.
The meeting was presided by Ahmed Toufiqur Rahman, Deputy General Manager, Inclusive Citizenship (IC) Sector, Friendship. Apart from that three ASPs, Officer-In Charge of all the 11 police stations, other higher officials of Kurigram Police were present in the occasion.
IC’s efforts to connect the char communities with the formal legal system along with Friendship’s holistic and innovative approach to provide various services was upheld through different presentations and discussions.
A video presentation illustrating the overall activities of Friendship was presented by Deputy General Manager Ahmed Toufiqur Rahman, while Programme.
Manager Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan made a presentation highlighting all the significant works of Inclusive Citizenship. Senior Manager Abu Muhammad Shihab, Regional Manager Muhammad Nayeem Kamran, Assistant Project Manager Md Nazmul Hossain and Md. Rezoanul Haque were also contributed in the session from Inclusive Citizenship.
In his speech, chief guest Superintendent of Police (SP), Kurigram Md. Mohibul Islam Khan (BMP) said only government bodies single handedly cannot ensure the ongoing development works for the people of Kurigram.
For that matter close coordination between the work and efforts of all development organizations and the different government bodies, law enforcing agencies are required.
Highlighting the Kurigram Police’s commitment to eradicate all kinds of social stigmas and social evils especially in the remote char areas he stressed on the need for Kurigram Police and Friendship to work together in harmony to assist the people living in the char areas in a society free of early marriages, dowry, drug abuse.
