Medical students want restoration of ‘carry-on’ system

Students of several medical colleges across the country went on indefinite class-ward boycott on Tuesday protesting the cancellation of ‘carry-on’ system in the professional system.
Students of Pabna Medical College, Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogra and Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College, Noakhali staged demonstrations and formed human chains demanding the restoration of the system.
In Bogra, 1st year and 2nd year students of the Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College formed a human chain on the college campus around 9:30am and demanded initiatives from the prime minister and the health minister to resolve the crisis.
The movement will continue until their demand is met, students announced at the human chain. In Pabna, the medical students staged demonstrations at the college around 11am to press home their demand.
They also threatened to go on a fast unto death if their demand is not met.
In Noakhali, Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College students staged demonstrations on the college premises and announced to continue their movement until the restoration of the system.
