Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Saturday urged medical students to refrain from any kind of active politics and instead, concentrate on study to become highly rated doctors.
“You do not need to organise rallies…. you don’t need to chant slogans on the streets…your prime duty is to devote yourselves to the study to be first-class doctor,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at an orientation programme of the MBBS students of ‘K-97’ batch at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) auditorium.
The minister told the students, “Think about the efforts that your parents have been putting on you…so it is your sacred duty to make them proud and happy.”
Referring to the rumors of question paper leakage Nasim said, “It was a challenge for me to stand for the meritorious students …this year the medical and dental admission tests in the public and private sectors were held in an atmosphere of high level security and transparency.
Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Secretary General Dr Iqbal Arsalan, DMC Director, Brigadier General M Mizanur Rahman, Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council President Ismail Khan also spoke, among others, on the occasion.
