Medical admission seekers on Friday announced to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday if their demand for cancellation of the results of the admission tests of MBBS and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and retaking the tests is not met by Saturday.
The came up with the announcement from a rally held at Shahbagh intersection in the capital.
Apart from the students, their guardians, university teachers and noted citizens joined the rally.
Speaking on the occasion, member secretary of the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and
Ports Prof Anu Muhammad questioned the death of a UGC official in Rab custody, saying this proves that medical entrance test question paper was leaked.
“The UGC official was killed in a planned way to protect the masterminds behind the question paper leakage,” he said. At the rally, the medical protesters announced new programmes to press home their demand.
They will hold a cartoon exhibition and collect mass signatures at the Central Shaheed Minar in the city from 10am on Saturday.
Eminent columnist Syed Abul Maksud Ahmed, Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, Dr Foyzul Hakim Nur, Dhaka University teachers Prof Dr Giti Ara Nasreen, Samina Lutfa Nitra and Afroza Bulbul, and Ganajagaran Manch spokesman Imran H Sarkar were, among others, present at the rally.
