Information Secretary Abdul Malek urged the mass media to highlight different development works of the incumbent government before the people.
“Mass media is working independently due to necessary cooperation of the present government . . . So media people should help the government to do good things for people’s interest,” he said this on Wednesday while speaking at the signing ceremony of the Annual Performance Agreement (APA) at Press Information Department (PID) in the city.
Referring to tremendous development activities of the present government, the information secretary said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build “Sonar Bangla” but some evil forces are trying to deter the country’s growth in many ways.
He also called upon all, including media people, to curb the evil forces with iron hand.
Principal Information Officer (PIO) Begum Kamrun Nahar presided over the signing ceremony. Additional PIO Fazle Rabbi also spoke on the occasion. Chattogram regional deputy PIO Azizul Haque, Khulna regional deputy PIO Javed Iqbal and Rajshahi regional deputy-PIO Faruk Md Abdul Momin signed the APAs.
