Speakers at a discussion said Tuesday that responsive role of print and electronic media is very important towards disaster management alongside mitigating the adverse impact of climate change in the region especially the vast barind tract.
Terming natural disasters and bad effect of climate change as correlated they said emphasis should be given on creating mass-awareness on how to adapt the climate consequences of those collectively.
They were addressing the inaugural session of a two-day training workshop for the newsmen styled “Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation” held at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner in Rajshahi.
Press Institution of Bangladesh (PIB) organized the workshop in association with Comprehensive Disaster Management Project (CDMP).
