Railways Minister Mujibul Haq on Tuesday called upon journalists to project government’s development activities properly in media.
“The journalists are enjoying full freedom as the media-friendly government has ensured their rights,” he said speaking as chief guest at the installation ceremony of newly elected committee of Dhaka Sub-Editors Council (DSEC) at the Jatiya Press Club.
Presided over by DSEC President Nasima Aktar Soma, the function was also addressed by journalist leaders Jakaria Kajal and Omar Faruq, Laxmipur District Foundation President Solaiman Rubel, DSEC Vice-President M Shahidul Haq, General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad and businessman Shaheed Islam Papul, among others.
Mujibul Haq said the people have shown red card to BNP because of wrong politics of Begum Khaleda Zia.
Boycotting the 10th parliamentary polls and killing people with petrol bombs are the major mistakes of BNP’s politics, he added.
Referring to various government programmes for the welfare of journalists, the minister said no government in the past did so many things for the welfare of journalists and flourishing media in the country.
