Media can play role to stop violence against women

Speakers at a view-exchange meeting said that media can play vital role for creating awareness to check violence against women.
They also called for involving all concerned including government and
NGO officials and employees, public representatives, community leaders and students to stop any sorts of violence against women.
They urged all for involving both men and women to achieve the desired success to this end which is a must for building a more civilized society.
The speakers said this on Saturday while addressing a meeting at Khulna University (KU) campus with Professor Dr Md Abdul Jabbar in the chair.
Mass Communication and Journalism Discipline of KU and Bangladesh ‘Nari Pragoti Sangha’ organized the meeting.
KU Professor Dr Sabiha Haque, women leader advocate Aloka Nanda Das and Director of BNPS Mahfuzul Bari Chowdhury, among others, spoke on the occasion.
Chairperson of Mass Communication and Journalism Department of Dhaka University (DU) Prof Mofizur Rahman presented a research paper.
