Measures taken to prevent Ebola: Nasim

Health Minister Mohammad Nasim on Monday told Parliament that the government has taken a number of
measures to prevent Ebola virus from entering the country.
The measures include formation of a national co-ordination committee, technical committee to detect the disease and national monitoring cell, necessary training to medical teams in Institute of Epidemiology, Disease and Research (IEDCR), introduction of the 24-hour surveillance with Personal Protective Equipment in each airport and land port
of the country and formation of Rapid Response Team in national, district and upazila levels.
The minister said this replying a written question from Awami League MP M Abdul Latif (Chittagong-11).
In reply to a starred question from independent MP Hazi Md Selim (Dhaka-7), Nasim said work to upgrade the 2600-bed Dhaka Medical College Hospital to 3100 beds will be completed soon.
