MCC launches blood pressure screening prog

A high blood pressure screening programme was launched at Zainul Udyan Baishakhi Mancha by the initiative of Mymensingh City Corporation (MCC) for the development of civic health on Tuesday.
The programme was inaugurated by Md. Asif Hossain Don, Acting Mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation. Under the Bangladesh Urban Public Health Strengthening Project in collaboration with CDC and Save the Children, the programme will be conducted for 2 months in different spots of 15 wards of the city through 6 mobile teams
Along with hypertension measurement, weight measurement, advice and medication will be provided if applicable. These activities will be held in wards 1, 4, 5, 6, 7,8, 9, 15, 17, 19, 23, 24, 25, 27, 29 and 32 of City Corporation from next April and May.
During the inauguration, Chief Executive Officer Md. Yusuf Ali, Chief Health Officer Dr. HK Debnath, US Consultant of CDC and Country Director of Safety Net Lieutenant Colonel Syed Hasan Abdullah, Public Relations Officer Sheikh Mahabul Hossain Rajib, Public Health Specialist Dr. Fahmida Islam, Medical Officer Dr. Aromas Was present.
