Information and planning meeting of National Vitamin A Plus Campaign-2021 was held at Shaheed Shahabuddin Auditorium organized by Mymensingh City Corporation on Tuesday.
Mymensingh City Corporation Mayor Md. Ekramul Haque Titu, who was the chief guest at the event, said only healthy children can ensure a beautiful future. Therefore, it is important to make sure that all children can take vitamin A capsules.
“We need to succeed in the current Corona situation as well,” he added. The masks and other hygiene rules for all vitamin A suppliers and recipients need to be ensured. Adequate mask, soap, water should be ensured at each vaccination center. He added that vitamin A capsules, polio vaccine and corona vaccine have already been used in various propaganda campaigns. He called on the civil society and the imam community to come forward with more propaganda so that no propaganda can mislead the people.
Also present on the occasion were Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Divisional Director Health Mohammad Shah Alam, Civil Surgeon Mohammad Nazrul Islam, Chief Health Officer Dr HK Debnath, World Health Organization Representative Dr Pankaj Bhowmik, Medical Officer Dr Redaur Rahman Khan, Food and Sanitation Officer. Deepak Majumder, NGO representatives, journalists of print and electronic media were present.
It may be mentioned that Mymensingh City Corporation has set a target of feeding 62423 children aged 06 to 59 months in 301 centers from June 5 to June 19.
