Chattogram Bureau :
The admission test for first year MBBS course of 2019-20 session held 32 venues of the country including 5 venues of Chattogram on Saturday .
This admission test under Chattogram Medical College held in 5 v enues in the city where appeared 6,211 candidates .
The venues of CMC are Chattogram Medical College, Chattogram Govt College, Premier University WASA Campus, PU Pabartak Campus and PU GEC campus. In last year 4,663 students appeared in 3 venues of CMC whereas 6,076 students appeared in 2016.
Principal of CMC Dr. Selim Md. Jahangir told New Nation that as per directives of the concerned authority , all intending students entered in the examination venue by 9 am and after that main gate was closed. The examination was held peacefully and in a disciplined manner. One Executive Magistrate was deputed in each venue beside Inspector of Health Directorates.
CMC sources said under 36 public medical college across the country there are scope of admission for 4,068 students .
On the other hand 6,336 seat are a vailable for admission in 70 private medical colleges in the country . A total of 72,928 students appeared for total 10,404 seats including public and private medical college, sources added.
