Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon on Wednesday warned the BNP not to unleash anarchy on February 8 over the judgment of a graft case filed against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
“If Khaleda Zia is convicted, she can go to higher court. But if the party men create any anarchy and disorder, we must protect our citizens, preventing the mischief-makers by taking necessary measures,” Mayor Khokon said.
He said this while addressing a ‘meet the people programme (Janotar Mukhomukhi)’ at Shiddheswary Boys High School.
Munshi Kamruzzaman Kajal, the Councilor of Ward-19, organised and presided over the programme.
The DSCC Chief Executive Officer Khan Mohammad Bilal, Chief Estate Officer Kamrul Islam Chowdhury, Chief Health Officer Sheikh Salahuddin and others were present in the programme.
The Mayor heard the citizens’ problems with patience and ordered officers to solve those problems soon.
