Maximum master plan are not implemented in SUST within 27 years. In 2015 a 30 year long plan was taken but one fourth of it is not visible till now.
Especially academic building and other infrastructure. many department face space problem. So teacher and students facing problem. Present government develop other public varsity exceptional SUST. Ministers of Sylhet are not taken proper supervision.
Authority said in 1986 the then government pass SUST. Act in Jatio Sangshed Later a Project director was appointed. In 13th February 1991 SUST starts its academic function. At first it has 3 department, 13 teachers and 105 students. At first 6 five year plan were taken but half of it are implemented. They will materialize within 2015. Of them within 2015 under SUST 37 new department, 7000 seat for residential students starting post-graduate and M.Phil course, hostel, transport, medical facility and recruitment of 1500 teacher and staff. But real picture is reverse.
Source said within 27 years half of the plan are not implemented. At present there are 28 department. Out of 17 only 6 accidence building built. Two student hall and 3rd floor of another block are finished. One student hall was constructed. In another one sing block is build. Other 3 blocks are incomplete. At present there are one dormitory and 3 four storied housing for teaches and staffs. Where main plan is to establish 28. The work of senate hall, stadium, swimming Pool, Cricked filed, electric substation are not started yet. Only health complex of the varsity is in deplorable position. One ambulance which is not ready in time.
Source said, TSC was established in 2011 but its construction is faulty. Position of Shahid minar is not well. On December 2016 ECNEC pas a project of Tk 218 cr. But its work is not started.
SM Ziaul Islam a student of public Administration said this varsity is behind development. Government is fail to take an integrated programme. So balance Development is absent. He said government earn huge revenue from sylhet. But this area is deprive from its due shar. 2 years passed after the master paln but half of its are unfinished it is shameful. He wants PM Sheikh Hasina in starvation.
SUST Press club General Sectary S.M Faizullah said this varsity is pioneer in educate on and research. So it is the duty of government to give special economic assistance..
