Promising spinner Mehedi Hasan Miraz on Monday said the match is still in their favor and our batsmen have to be play a major role in the second innings to set up a challenging target for Australia.
“Definitely the match is still in our favor … hope to play well tomorrow as the third day is very important …… if the batsmen able to play with responsibility, there will be a big target and it will be challenging for Australia,” Miraz said to the newsmen at a post match press conference at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium at Mirpur on Monday.
Replying to a question, Miraz said that Tigers would try to make a big score on the third day and it would be fine if they are able to cross over 300 runs in the second innings.
Commenting about Shakib Al Hasan the spinner said: “I feel proud to play with Shakib as the country has got such a talented all-rounder who dominates all three formats of the World. He is happy that he (Shakib) has made so many records, it’s my pleasure to have the opportunity to playing with him.”
Miraz said he had a special plan for Australian skipper Steve Smith and it worked when he delivered the ball as per his captain Mushfiq’s suggestion.
It feels good to have wicket of such a world class Australian batsmen today. My aim will be to perform with good bowling by maintaining the line and length to get more good result in the second innings, said the right handed promising spinner.
