Nilphamari Municipality in Rangpur Division has been providing all modern facilities to stakeholders as tremendous development works have been completed in last couples of years under various mega developing projects.
Thanks to Asian Development Bank (ADP) for its generous support in this field of development under Urban Governance Infrastructure Improvement Project (UGIIP) in three phases and also climate fund for additional support.
A modern super market at the town center with eye catching design and planning helps increasing town’s beauty and also makes it easier for its inhabitants to buy different commodities of their need quite easily.
A vast drains and roads network, setting up steal and moveable dustbins and road lights at every poles, slums improvement, all help to make the municipality a modern one.
The important footpath in front of DC office upto circuit house intersection is being decorated with colourful tiles to enhance town’s beauty.
Dewan Kamal Ahmed, Nilphamari Municipality Mayor informed that the UGIIP project in three phases provided tk 69.17 crore for implementing the giant development tasks.
Of this amount, work of tk 32.38 crore is still going on while work at cost of tk 36.79 crore has already been completed, he further informed.
A high-powered team of ADB recently visited the development works and talked to people of different cross section.
Alexander Bhogle, the leader of the team while talking to journalists expressed happiness as see the works and promised to cooperate for further development in days to come.
