At least 55 students of the Dhonagoda Taltoli High School in Matlab upazila fell sick with symptoms of mass hysteria on Monday.
Faruk Ahmed, headmaster of the school, said some students of class IX and X were the first to report falling sick around 11am.
As the news spread, students and staff members were overcome by a sense of panic, and soon others students started falling sick one after the other, till ultimately more than 50 students of the entire school were affected.
