Information Secretary Kamrun Nahar urged the media personnel to create mass awareness to make Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s development efforts a success.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to build poverty-and-hunger-free and a ‘Sonar Bangla’ envisioned by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman . . . I urge media workers to make the development efforts a success,” she said this on the ninth instant while inaugurating a workshop of the ‘Tathya Bhaban’ on Circuit House road in the city.
The information secretary added: “No development is possible without the participation of mass people and mass awareness is mandatory in this regard. Media workers will have to work to create mass awareness.”
Referring to the incumbent government’s different pragmatic steps for the digitization, she said this initiative should be utilized to reach the ongoing development endeavours at people’s doorsteps.
Director General (DG) of the Films and Publications Department S M Golam Kibria presided over the programme.
Mass Communication Department DG Akhtar Hossain, Film Archive DG Md Nizamul Kabir and Bangladesh Film Censor Board Vice-Chairman Jasim Uddin, among others, were present there.
Earlier, the information secretary opened a ‘Child Care Room’ in the Tathya Bhaban.
