Mass-awareness needed to increase industrial and agricultural productivity

Referring to the issue of gradually increasing public demands speakers in a discussion in Rajshahi opined that emphasis should be given to creating mass-awareness about increasing industrial and agricultural productivity to meet the demands from domestic sources.
They observed that all the authorities concerned should work together with patriotic zeal for enhancing productivity in the industrial, agriculture, service and other sectors for realising the Vision 2021 to become a middle income nation.
Productivity improvement has been considered as the most important factor for the national economy and it accelerates the development of overall economy of the country, they pointed out.
The observations came at the participatory discussion styled “Achieve
Vision- 2021 Through Increased Productivity” held in the conference hall of deputy commissioner marking the National Productivity Day- 2015 yesterday.
Deputy Commissioner’s Office organized the discussion in association with
Regional Office of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation
(BSCIC) and Rajshahi Sugar Mills (RSM) Limited.
Deputy Commissioner Mejbah Uddin Chowdhury addressed the discussion as chief guest while president of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industry Md
Muniruzzaman and general manager of RSM Siddique Ali spoke as special guests with Engineer Ajaharul Islam, deputy general manager (Industries Assistance Center) of BSCIC, in the chair.
Terming productivity the most important factor for accelerating development, the discussants put emphasis on innovating newer technologies through conducting time-befitting training and research works to attain sustainable national socioeconomic growth.
