Captain of Bangladesh National Cricket (ODI) team Mashrafe Bin Mortaza left the city on Friday for Kolkata, the capital city of West Bengal.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been selected ‘Anandabazar Best Bengali Player Award 2017’ by the Anandabazar Patrika. Mashrafe will receive the award in a gala function at Kolkata on Saturday.
Bangladesh National Cricket team moved into the semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy, which concluded recently in England. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza led his team from the frontline. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been selected for the award for his contribution on the success of Bangladesh’s semi-final berth in the gala cricket competition.
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and his family went to Kolkata. They will return home on August 3.
It may be mentioned that Habibul Bashar and Shakib Al Hasan were also nominated for this award.
Habibul Bashar received the award in 2009, while Shakib Al Hasan obtained the prize in 2012.
