In 1993, by performing as a model in a TV commercial of Sainik Bulb under Sadrul Pasha’s direction Maruf Aqib started his career in media. Maruf was later seen to perform as a model in many other TVCs specially his performance with Afsana Mimi in a TVC of Meril Fresh Gel and against Ria in other TVC of Lalbag-er Hansh Marka Gondhoraj Oil came into the limelight during that time. Even he also got the chance to act in his first acted movie Jyoti directed by Monwar Khokon. His acting was also appreciated by all in the big screen. Amit Hasan and Shahnaz were his co-actors in that movie. Later he acted in several numbers of movies.
Now Maruf is busy with acting in a movie titled Ragi which is being directed by Mizanur Rahman Mizan. He is playing a role of a lawyer which may be a turning point in his career. He prefers to act in movies and to perform as a model in TVCs. For this reason, he is little bit seen to act in TV plays. He first acted in a play titled Jollya under own production house where Sweety was his co-actress.
While talking about his own career Maruf told this correspondent, “I am very much satisfied with my present position in media. Acting is my profession. I want to continue acting rest of my life. I am grateful to them who helped me a lot to come into this position. In the meantime, I request my fans to pray for me as I can successfully work in the long run.”
