Martyr’s widow testifies against Forkan

Razia Begum, widow of martyr Abdul Kader Jomaddar on Wednesday testified in the trial of Forkan Mallik, alleged Razakar commander from Mirazaganj upazilla of Patuakhali.
Razia submitted her deposition as the 11th prosecution witness (PW) at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2. The witness in her short deposition said Pakistani occupation army accompanied by Razakars picked up her husband Kader on August 12, 1971 and he never returned.
“Razakars including Forkan, tied up my husband and took him away. They looted our home and took all the valuables.

Body of my husband was found two days later on the char of nearby river,” she said.
After her deposition, defence counsel Advocate Abdus Salam Khan, cross-examined her and the tribunal then adjourned the hearing till March 23.
Earlier in the morning, the defence concluded cross-examining PW-10.
The second tribunal on December 18, 2014, indicted Mallik and framed five specific charges of crimes against humanity including murder, rape, torture and forced conversion.
