Ekushey Boimela, The Book Fair Festival devoted to the great martyrs of Bhasha Andolon (Language Movement) reflects the ever shining history of our glorious struggle, our predecessors initiated. The Martyrs Salam, Barkat, Rafique, Jabbar and Shafiqur Rahman will remain ever bright in our march towards cherished goal of freedom, cultural and economic emancipation. The grand festival of Book Fair upholds our spirit to face all odds and protect our culture-language, literature and traditions. It imbues the present generation with our glorious history leading to the great war of liberation to break the chains of subjugation and oppression. It inspires us to dream for a society and nation-based on equity and justice.
The Boimela is of great importance in realising the cherished national goal. The festival of heritage, extended to Suhrawardy Uddyan. This year, has started yesterday, the 1st Feb. 2014. The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has opened the month long Boimela.
The Book Fair opens an era of interaction among intellectuals, authors, journalists, publishers and people of all ages. This is a business occasion of the publishers and book sellers, buying of books favourite authors by the fans and readers, having autographs of the literacy celebrities and attending thought-provoking discussion in the Bangla Academy premises.
The guardians with their budding children go to the fair and buy books with great enthusiasm to ensure proper nourishing of the posterity.
