Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Engineer Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Sunday said Bangladeshis can go to Saudi Arabia for work at a very low cost once the labour market in reopened in the Arab country.
“Now we’re waiting for the announcement of
reopening the labour market in Saudi Arabia,” he said while talking to reporters at his ministry.
During a meeting with the Bangladesh Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment in Riyadh on January 21, Saudi Labour Minister Engineer Adel bin Muhammad Fakeih expressed his country’s readiness to reopen the labour market to Bangladeshi workers soon.
The Saudi government has expressed its interest to recruit Bangladeshi workers in its every sector.
The total cost for sending a Bangladeshi worker will be decided later but the recruiting agencies will bear the medical and travel cost of workers, the minister said.
