Planning Minister MA Mannan paid a courtesy call on Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury on Wednesday at her office in the JS Bhaban here.
During the meeting, they discussed overall activities of the Agri-Census-2019 as it would prepare authentic database on agriculture to help policymakers take effective plans for further improvement in the agriculture sector, said a press release.
As part of the census, the enumerators collected data from the speaker on food grains, fisheries and livestock, size of the agriculture households, land use, size of the cultivated land, number of cattle and poultry, agricultural machineries, food security, fisheries and forests in the urban and rural areas across the country, it added.
