The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has appointed Manmohan Parkash as the new Country Director for its Bangladesh resident mission.
As Country Director, Parkash will oversee the implementation of the ADB Country Partnership Strategy for Bangladesh (2016-2020), said an ADB release.
Parkash, an Indian national with more than 32 years of professional experience, assumed his new position on November 15, 2017. He succeeds Kazuhiko Higuchi, who went on retirement in early November.
In pursuing ADB’s mission of reducing poverty through inclusive economic growth, environmentally sustainable growth and regional integration, he will also lead the policy dialogue with government counterparts, civil society and other partners.
Expressing his gratitude, Parkash said: “Bangladesh has made significant socio-economic progress in recent years, and is well positioned to graduate to the next level of growth and development.”
