The body of Assistant Commissioner of the Detective Branch of Police, Rabiul Islam, was buried beside his father’s grave at Katibarigram of Manikganj on Saturday night.
Earlier, his body was taken to his village home from Dhaka. Before burial, Rabiul’s second namaz-e-janaza was held at the village mosque after Tarabih prayers last night, his brother Shamsuzzaman Shams said.
On the other hand, OC Salauddin is set to be buried at Banani graveyard in the capital, said his elder brother Raj Uddin yesterday. The body of Salauddin was taken to his village home at Gopalgonj. After his second namaz-e-janaza there the body will be brought back to Dhaka for burial at Banani graveyard.
The first Namaz-e-Janaza for Rabiul Islam and Salahuddin Khan were held at the Rajarbagh Police Lines after Asr prayers on Saturday.
The two suffered fatal injuries when a gang of armed militants blasted grenades and opened sporadic fire from a restaurant in city’s Gulshan diplomatic zone and they succumbed to their injuries at a private hospital.
Abu Yusuf, an Additional Deputy Commissioner, Public Relations Department, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said the bodies were brought to Rajarbag Police Lines for Namaz-e-Janaza after an autopsy carried out at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
