Manikganj admin vigilant to make lockdown effective

Mobile courts have been set up in Shibalaya, Saturia and Harirampur in Manikganj on Monday to enforce the strict lockdown announced by the government. Fines have been levied for non-compliance with health rules. At the same time, instructions have been given to abide by the lockdown announced by the government. Members of Police and Border Guard Bangladesh of the concerned police station assisted in conducting the mobile court.
Shibalaya Upazila Executive Officer Jasmine Sultana fined 10 accused in 10 cases Tk 8,400 for violating lockdowns in different places of the Upazila. Jasmine Sultana urges all to abide by the strict lockdown announced by the government and not to go out unnecessarily.
On the other hand, Ghior Assistant Commissioner Land Wahida Shabab conducted mobile courts at several points including Baliakhora Bazar of the Upazila. During this time, a fine of Tk 2,500 was imposed in 7 cases under Section 269 of the Penal Code, 1860.
Besides, Jhitka Bazar area of Harirampur Upazila and some other places were raided due to non-compliance with the government’s instructions. A mobile court has fined six people Tk. 2,700 for driving without a mask, extra passengers on motorcycles, hanging out in shops and driving auto rickshaws.
Harirampur Police Station Acting In-Charge (OC) Saiyad Mizanur Islam, Police Station and Border Guard Bangladesh cooperated in running the mobile court.
