Mandatory dope test for govt jobs soon

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday said that dope test to be made mandatory in the recruitment process of government jobs.
“Stern action will be taken against those government officials found drug addicts,” the minister said.
The minister gave the warning in a press briefing held in the conference room of the Home Ministry at Secretariat to mark ‘International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.’
The day will be observed on Wednesday (today). This year’s theme for the
day is –Health for justice, justice for health.
The day has been being observed annually on June 26 since 1989. The government has taken all-out preparations to observe the day.
“Making dope test compulsory may leave a positive impact on the youth folk. Besides, the job seekers will stay alert if the test is carried out before recruitment,” the minister said.
Mentioning the government’s zero tolerance policy against drug abuse, he informed that Department of Narcotics Control has been made dynamic while the Narcotics Control Act made epoch-making.
