On the day that Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced that he would be joining Manchester United, the Red Devils committed a big error by all but announcing Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s signing.
United are believed to be close to the Borussia Dortmund star and confirmation of the deal appears to be imminent.
On Thursday evening, however, the United website showed pictures of the club’s new away kit with ‘Mkhitaryan’ emblazoned on the reverse side of the blue shirt.
The photos were swiftly removed from the site later that evening, instead issuing an ‘error’ message on the webpage.
Despite Ibrahimovic’s announcement, his shirt was not available to view which raised the question of whether the club staff had uploaded the wrong shirt.
Nevertheless, this error surely means that the Armenian is extremely close to sealing a deal with United, despite one year remaining on his contract with Dortmund.
Last season, Mkhitaryan was in excellent form as he scored 11 goals and provided 15 assists in 31 Bundesliga appearances.
