The government has ordered the dismissal of the managing committees of 148 educational institutions for not returning the excess fees they had collected from students at the time of their filling out forms for SSC exams.
All the institutions are under the Rajshahi education board.
A statement of the education ministry released to the media on Wednesday said that the Rajshahi Board had been asked to implement the order.
It noted that there were allegations that many private institutions had collected fees beyond the limit set by the board.
They were later asked to return the excess fees to the students, the statement added.
According to the statement, the Rajshahi board chairman has been asked to dissolve the managing committees of the 148 institutions within three days as they had not paid back the excess fees.
