Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid on Tuesday said that the managing committee of non-government educational institution would be formed neutrally across the country.
“The local representatives control the non-government educational institutions. They appoint the teachers without any transparency. That is why the managing committees of the non-government educational institutions will have neutral people,” Nahid said.
He said this after the meeting of Parliamentary Standing Committee on education at the Secretariat.
Asking about the appointment of principal and headmaster of the educational institutions, he said that the ministry endorsed 150 headmasters and 50 principals yesterday (Tuesday).
The minister said that previously the managing committees had absolute power in appointing teachers. Under the new system the deputy commissioners will recommend to appoint teachers.
“We have a plan to preserve academic books in separate building in each district,” he said.
He praised the DCs for their cooperation during the distribution of books all over the country.
