Additional district and session judge court in Nilphamari sentenced on Wednesday one person to death for making fake currency notes.
The convict has been identified as MA Badsha Dhali (49), son of late Wahedunnabi of
Dhalagachh Munshi para village in Saidpur upazila of the district.
The prosecution in brief is that acting on secret information, a police team from Saidpur police station raided the rented house of the accused on the night of 27th July, 2014 and arrested him with six fake currency notes each having value of Tk 500/.
At that time, he was engaged in making a lot of fake notes and police also seized fake note making machines from his possession. The investigation officer and Sub Inspector MR Sayed submitted charge sheet in due time against MA Badsha Dhali as the lone accused.
Additional District and Session Judge Md Mahbubul Alam after examining the witnesses and evidences gave death sentence under Section 25 (ka) of Special Power act, 1974.
The court also pointed that the death sentence will be implemented on condition of approval by the high court division of Supreme Court under penal code 374.
