A man has reportedly committed suicide hanging himself from the ceiling of his house after ‘killing’ his wife over a family feud in Bangra Bazar area of Muradnagar upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Faruk, 40, son of Nazrul Molla, and his wife Rozina Begum, 30, of the village.
Quoting locals, Jahangir Alam, assistant superintendent of police (Muradnagar circle), said the couple, blessed with three daughters, used to pick quarrel over family feud.
Being informed by locals, police recovered the bodies of the couple from their room in the morning and sent those to local hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.
Police suspected that Faruk first strangulated his wife to death and then killed himself sometime in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
