A man surrendered to police after killing his wife over extramarital affairs in the city’s Gulshan region on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rani Begum, 30. Police arrested accused Mintu Gazi, sources said.
Abu Bakar Siddique, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station, said, “Mintu Gazi surrendered to us within hours of murdering his wife at House No. 10, Road No. 68, Gulshan-2.”
Mintu, a driver, killed his wife suspecting that she had extra-marital affairs with a man. He disclosed the incident to the police in details. The couple has three children, the Police official said.
A case has been filed in this connection, he said.
Police recovered the body and sent it to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for autopsy, the OC said.
