A 37-year-old man was shot to death by his rivals as a sequel of enmity over establishing supremacy at village Darbeshpur under Sadar upazila in Kushtia on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Raju Ahmmed, 37, is a son of Munta Mondol of village Darbeshpur.
Police officials and local people said that a group of people attacked Raju’s house on Thursday night while he was asleep. They forced him out of the house and shot him in the throat.
The family with the help of local people rushed Raju to Kushtia Sadar Hospital
where the duty doctor declared him dead.
Police are trying to arrest the attackers and additional police deployed in the area to avert any awkward incident, Kushtia police station Officer-in-Charge Sabbirul Islam said.
