A court here on Monday convicted a man and sentenced him to life term imprisonment for killing his son in 2010.
The convict was identified as Atahar Ali, 55, son of Hossain Ali, a resident of Deulbari Dobra village in Najirpur upazila.
The court also fined him TK 10,OOO. If he failed to pay money then he will be awarded more six months imprisonment.
According to the prosecution, Masum Bali, 23, son of Atahar’s 1st wife was slaughtered to death by Atahar at night on March 04, 2010 over a trifling matter.
Later, the victim’s wife Nupur filed a case in this connection.
