A man on Saturday raped a four-and-a-half year old at a village under Chaugachha upazila in Jashore.
The suspected rapist, Raihan, took the victim to his house by luring her with candy and raped her, said Saiful Islam Sabuj, officer-in-charge of Chougachha Police Station.
Hearing the child’s screams, locals along with her family members rushed to the house while Raihan managed to flee, the OC added. The victim has been admitted to Jashore Medical College Hospital.
She is in a critical condition, reports our correspondent. Police are trying to arrest the suspect, OC Saiful said.
