A man was killed and his wife suffered injury seriously at Nolbhogh under Dhaka city’s Turag Police Station on Monday when they allegedly attacked each other with the lethal weapons during a quarrel over their suspected link to extramarital affairs.
The deceased has been identified as Monir Hossain(28), son of Haji Noor Miah, while the injured as Yasmin Akhter (22), daughter of Mostafa.
Abir Mohammad Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Turag Police Station, quoting family members said, the couple accused each other of having link to the extramarital affairs. Both of them locked into a quarrel late at night on Sunday. At one stage, they attacked each other with lethal weapons.
Hearing hue and cry, neighbours, including deceased’s brother Kabir Hossain, rushed to the house and rescued them in a critical condition.
They were first taken to Uttara Crescent Hospital and then shifted to Dhaka Apollo Hospitals where Monir succumbed to his injuries at about 5:00 am. Yasmin is now fighting for life at the ICU of the hospital.
