UNB, Chuadanga :
A man was hacked to death by his rival group following a long-standing dispute over land at Garabaria village in Sadar upazila on Saturday noon.
The deceased was identified as Asab Uddin, 45, son of late Ator Ali of the village.
Local sources said next-door rival Ekramul and his family members locked into an altercation with Asab Uddin and his family members over encroachment of a piece of land at the village’s Baganpara area at noon. At one stage, Ekramul and his men indiscriminately hacked Asab with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital for autopsy, said Tuzammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Sadar Police Station.
