A man was crushed under the wheels of a speeding CNG-run auto-rickshaw near the Prime Minister’s Office in the city’s Tejgaon area on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Suruj Miah, 45, son of Akbar Hossain, a resident of Nakhalpara in the city.
Sentu Chandra Das, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost, said Suruj received severe injuries when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw hit him during crossing the road in front of the Prime Minister’s Office around 7:00am. Later, he was whisked off to DMCH where he succumbed to his injuries around 7:30 am, the SI said. The body kept at the DMCH morgue, he said.
A case was filed with the Tejgaon Police Station in this connection, the SI said.
