A cosmetic trader was killed by hammer attack in Barandi Mollapara area of Jashore district town on Saturday morning over land dispute .
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman (40) son of one Habibur Rahman of Barandi Mollapara area of the town.
Zakir Hossain, the brother of the deceased, said that Abdul Kuddus has a piece of land adjoining the land of Abdur Rahman, in the Barandi Mollapara crossing area of the town. Kuddus forcibly tried to occupy Abdur Rahman’s land.
There was a long standing conflict between them. On Saturday morning, Abdur Rahman was going to town by a bicycle.
Suddenly Kuddus and his accomplices hit him by hammer to his head in front of his house. Locals rescued him and sent to Jashore General Hospital in critical condition, where the doctor declared him dead . Kuddus fled from his house after the killing.
Jashore Kotwali Police Station’s OC Moniruzzaman said, the killing has happened due to land dispute. No one was arrested in the incident. The body was sent to Jashore General Hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed in this connection.
