A woman was beaten to death by her husband in Dakshin Jhirapar village under Lohajuri union in Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj district on Wednesday over family feud.
The victim Rina Akhter (27), was the daughter of Muharram Ali from Lohajuri.
Police arrested Rina’s husband Jasim (34). They have three children.
According to locals and Police, Jasimuddin known as a drug peddler and addict. A few months ago Jasim got married second time without the first wife’s permission.
A week ago, without informing Jasim, Rina left her three children at home and went to Agarpurchal in Kuliarchar upazila. On returning her home on Tuesday night, the two had an argument at night.
At one stage Jasim got angry and started beating Rina with a stick. Rina fell on the ground with the stick. Rina was taken to Katiadi upazila health complex in a serious condition, while duty doctors declared her dead.
Additional SP(Administration) Mustaque Sarker said that receiving information , Police arrested Jasim from the hospital in this connection.
Rina’s father Muharram Ali became the plaintiff and filed a case of murder at Katiadi Model Police Station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) in Katiado Model Police Station Shahadat Hossain said that the body was sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
Killer Jasim has been sent to District Jail on Wednesday noon.
