Man held for Imam killing

Police arrested the main accused in the murder of Didarul Islam, 26, Imam of Baitul Jalal Jame Mosque located at Mallikpara on Wednesday morning.
He was identified as Ohidur Rahman (25), son of one Abdur Razzak (Tuku) from Kalabariya Westpara village of Narail district.
Police arrested him from Shibchar in Madaripur district on Tuesday night.
In a press conference, District Police Superintendent Harun-ur-Rashid narrated the details of the murder to the media on Wednesday noon, said our district correspondent Abdullah-al-Mamun.
Police have already found the motive behind the murder of Imam that deceased Didarul Islam had a financial transaction with his friend Ohidur. Imam had also a business of buying and selling gold bars. For this reason there was a dispute between the Imam and his friend Ohidur about the business of gold bars.
Imam Didarul asked Ohidur to return his invested fund when relation deteriorated.
Finally Ohidur planned to kill Imam. According to the plan, on the day before the murder, the accused invited Dadarul to drink tea with him. Later, while preparing the dinner after the Esha prayers on the day of the assassination, Dadarul was fed a mixture of some intoxicating products. As a result, Dadarul became unconscious. On August 22, Imam Didarul Islam of Narayandia Baitul Jalal Jama Masjid of Sonargaon Mallickpara village was brutally killed in the throat. The deceased was the son of one Aftab Farazi of Rajapur area of Terakhada police station.
Earlier, on July 25, he was appointed as an imam at that mosque in Mallickpara village.
