A man was held on charge of torturing a six-year-old orphan boy named Jisan in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district last Wednesday.
The convict is identified as Swapan Mia, 35, inhabitant of Chargaon village. He is also uncle of the victim Jisan.

It is noted that Swapan confined the child to a room and used to torture him for money. He also captured the incident on his cell phone and sent it to
child’s mother, who lived in S. Arabia, demanding money.
“Swapan took money from me several times by sending me the video of torture,” said Sumana, adding that she returned home from Saudi Arabia on Monday.
Finally the victim’s mother Sumana Begum on Tuesday filed a case with Nabiganj Police Station, accusing Swapan.
Azizur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Nabiganj Police Station said that action would follow the investigation.
